1) I don't even get the Saturday edition of FBOFW. Is it supposed to be funny that Mike makes a weird unfunny pun and Liz tells him it's not funny and he apologizes? What am I missing?
2) When did Liz have time to undergo the plastic surgery that turned her into an eerie twin of Elly? Again, I absolutely thought this WAS Elly until April called her by name.

I think Saturday's strip is not supposed to be funny; it's supposed to be foreshadowing. Mike hints that either Liz or Paul is going to stray, and his smirk is meant to add "but it's true" to his "sorry".
Is it just my computer screen, or does April have a friend who looks to be some kind of Oompa Loompa relative? She seems to have white hair and purple skin. Is it some Invader Zim style "skin condition?"
Agree-- heavy-handed foreshadowing. Liz is about to get a text message from Paul saying he's met someone else.
As the previous poster said, it's forshadowing. Paul has his childhood friend in Liz's spot up there. I suspect he'll dump Liz for the other girl so Liz will remain saintly and then settle for Granthony. What happened to this strip? It used to be one of my favorites. I keep reading it waiting for it to get good again. :(
You are so right about Elly/Liz! Even after reading your comment, I thought it was Elly too, until April called her by name. Eerie.
of course it's not elly because the person is wearing hip earrings. elly doesn't wear earrings - only someone young like liz could possibly wear earrings.
