Here's a fun quiz to see how well you observe everyday things.
Rob and I took it together and got 19 out of 20, but I would have done much worse without him. He also disagreed with the quiz's answer to one of the questions, so there you have it, America.

(Blushing)13 out of 25.
I got 14 - I thought they'd gotten one wrong, but it turns out I'm just dumb.
I will say, several of those things aren't exactly everyday items anymore (who has a TV with a turn-knob?)
Also that one about the water going clockwise or counter-clockwise on the different sides of the equator is wrong (it's not true that that happens.)
Was it the water / plughole question that he disagreed with? That questions always annoys me.
I got 20 out of 25. Not bad, if most people get 7.
23 out of 25 and no cheating!
Not only is the Coriolis effect not significant in determining the direction water drains, but the quiz got the direction wrong -- it would be counterclockwise per Wikipedia.
I'm surprised no one mentioned the blind cord question. Every set of blinds I've ever seen has the cord on the *right* side.
I got 17. Not bad. Thanks for the interesting quiz! :)
I got 21 out of 25. I was surprised, because I don't consider myself to be especially observant!
18 of 25, with no help. I disagree with the blinds question, too... in my current apartment, 2 blinds are right, one is left - maybe it's left because of vertical blinds in front of a sliding door??
I don't think it was asking about the cord for lifting and dropping the blinds, but rather the wand for opening and closing them, which is usually on the left...
I got 19/25.
Our blinds have a cord on the right and on the left - the one on the left lifts them, and the one on the right angles the slats. I guess the question was talking about blinds with a wand instead of the new ones that use cords? If both cords are on the left, then they would get all tangled up.
I also missed the merry-go-round. I thought that carousels went counter clockwise, and merry-go-rounds went clockwise. According to this quiz they go the same way I guess.
