Sad story from a Strib alum

When I worked at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, I sat very close to Delma Francis, and I know how hard she worked. She also adopted a little girl, beautiful Whitney, on her own, and I know that can't be easy.

Delma took a buyout in 2007, and has been unable to find a job since. She writes in MinnPost about how she's down to her last $10 until her next unemployment check arrives. I can't tell you how sad and mad this whole thing makes me. Damn economy.

She's very brave to write this, I'll tell you that.
