Sweet and sour

Paul Rudnick discusses his favorite and least favorite candies, with good humor.

Among his least faves: "Necco wafers: Too chalky, too medicinal and too pastel. Better used as button earrings."

Necco wafers have always been pretty disgusting, and now their colors come from natural sources, including beets and cabbage. Yeah, that makes it better.

Love Paul Rudnick. He was (is) the alter ego of the fabulous Libby Gelman-Waxman (or is it Wexler?) from Premiere Magazine.
