A very special episode

I love this: There's an Ask Metafilter thread naming the most depressing episodes of sitcoms, called "Whatchu dyin' 'bout, Willis?"

Man, there were a LOT of tear-jerking episodes of normally funny shows. Tell me this sentence doesn't raise goosebumps on your arms, if you remember how Radar said it.

"Lieutenant Colonel Henry Blake's plane ... was shot down over the Sea of Japan ... there were no survivors."

And this, from "Sesame Street."

It's a nice list. Thanks for directing us to it. I'll add that the final "Wonder Years" episode they mention really was depressing. Whenever life for me takes a turn for the worse, that episode flashes in my head. Daniel Stern's narration at the end was especially moving.
