Does Chanel No. 5 owe its disctinctive and famed scent to a mistake?
Wikipedia discusses the idea that the fragrance's composition is due to a mixing error, but pretty much discounts that, saying it's too perfectly mixed to be a mistake.
I don't mind the scent, but only in small doses. Also, I think I'm biased by the fact that it's been around forever and I kind of associate it with elderly ladies. Not as much as Joy, though.
