Egging you on
Raised on the slightly sour taste of American Hershey's chocolate, I listen impatiently when people try to tell me that British chocolate, and Cadbury in particular, is so much better. But I do like Cadbury Creme Eggs at Easter, though I try to limit my consumption.
Anyway, Rob and I were at a 7-Eleven the other day (our credit union has no branches outside the suburbs, but it lets you get cash free from any 7-Eleven ATM, go figure), and we saw this marvelous invention in their freezer case: Cadbury Creme Eggs frozen cone thingies.
I'm pretty sure that's the technical name.

I think Cadbury uses a different formulation for their chocolate produced here in the States, although I think the Cadbury eggs are the same. In England, the eggs are available year round. It's fantastic.
My credit union has ATMs in all the McDonald'ses in Manhattan. Friends are often confused when I say, "Oh I have to stop in the bank" and then duck into a McD's!
WOW. I think that ranks right up there with the British McDonald's Cadbury Creme Egg Blizzard. That is whole lotta happiness in such a little package.
McDonald's in Canada also offers the Cadbury Crème Egg McFlurry. Yum.
Holy Shit. This may have changed my life forever. I have a real problem with Cadbury Creme Eggs. But only if you consider a penchant for eating a 3-pack in one sitting a problem.
I think I could limit myself to one CCE Cone per day. Probably.
Many thanks.
Oh good lord, that might be the most beautiful thingie I have ever seen.
Hey, I covet these! They don't appear to be available here in the UK, which is...disappointing. Ellen, where do you get the eggs year-round? Here in England they are traditionally released after Christmas, and disappear after Easter.
I know this sounds crazy, but my girlfriend and I are coming to Seattle as part of our honeymood -- can you email me and tell me where that 7-11 was? I'm crazy enough about those eggs that they're our party favors for the wedding on Saturday....
Thanks!
I also limit my consumption of the creme eggs - one three pack per year. Any more and I get a little sick - but that three-pack is truly delicioso.

I like the idea of the Cadbury ice cream stick thingy but the graphic looks quite disturbing online. As if it's belching out the middle. The eggs are better in England as are most chocolate products. Sigh.
