Wikipedia has a nice entry on Peg Entwistle, the despairing bit actress who, in 1932, leapt to her death off the "H" in the Hollywood sign (which then read "HOLLYWOODLAND").

Sadly, her suicide is about the only thing anyone remembers about her, if they remember her at all. One other interesting factoid: For a while, she was married to the father of Brian Keith (Uncle Bill from "Family Affair"). Sadly, Keith also ended his life by suicide, in 1997, 10 weeks after his own daughter did the same.

Entwhistle looks a lot like Kirsten Dunst in that Wikipedia photo. Maybe she was reincarnated and finally got to be a famous actress.
