Pass the Jaffa cakes

An American living in Scotland offers up her own summaries of various British food items. Fun to read, and occasionally horrifying.

Don't read if you're hungry or slightly squeamish, unless you can handle such horrors as brined hot dogs in a can, congealed blood, and haggis (33% pork lung!).

However, the Brits almost make up for it with buttery crumpets and Jaffa Cakes. Almost.

She doesn't make a great case for some of these, but I guess it does come down to taste. We were raised on blood pudding! And I had my first haggis at a Robbie Burns party recently. Delicious.

I was raised on this stuff, too. I do prefer M&Ms to Smarties, but I still enjoy the treat.

I'm also surprised she didn't try Bangers and Mash or Fish and Chips. Love those, too. What a great trip down memory lane for me. Thanks, Gael!

It's time for another look at KookyChow.com, specifically Pork Brains in Milk Gravy, for some fine country eatin'.

And where would somebody looking for Jaffa Cakes in Seattle find them?
