In a world...where the voiceover guy is gone

If you get a chance, watch this video about Don LaFontaine, who just died. What an awesome talent, and what a sweet-sounding man.

Not sure how much I'm going to like living in a world without Don LaFontaine. :( Maybe Pablo Francisco might be able to take over for him (http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=f7LN9uklloY).

This is just, I don't know, it's just wrong. The voiceover man should live forever! How will I know which movies to go see without him?

The man seems pretty self-aware and grounded for someone that well-off in the business. Of course, you could always argue that it was for the cameras, but he seemed to have a relaxed ease about his success whenever I saw him interviewed. And considering the fact that he was versitile enough to work on a wide variety of films, he seemed pretty proud of all of his work – both big and small. I probably can’t count how many times I’ve been in a theater and heard him on one trailer after the next without thinking much about the announcer.
