Oscar-winning actor and Cambodian genocide survivor Haing Ngor was murdered in LA in 1996. It was supposedly gang members, but some wonder if there wasn't a connection to the killing fields of Cambodia that haunted his life.
I always think of how horrible it must have been for Ngor, a gynecologist, having to watch his wife die IN CHILDBIRTH because if he revealed he was a doctor and helped her, they would both have been killed. No, Alanis, not "raaaain on your wedding day," THAT is irony, cruel and vicious.
